JOSHUA COX

Creative Director

Joshua Cox, The Creative Director and lead Designer at Refuge Design with 20+ years of experience across Art Direction, Motion Design, Commercial Direction, CGI, Production Design, and Title Sequences. He has a passion for research and the visual problem solving process. Joshua has a curiosity for projects that live at the intersection of where art meets science.

As Director, he was awarded a Vimeo staff pick for his CG time lapse short film "Proximity”. He has directed spots for Honda, Nike, Puma, T3, Sofi, and Oreo.  As well as titles and ID’s for various Clients including the 2020 Rebrand of Cartoon Network.

Feeling a pull to get out of the commercial space and make a move over to film he landed a CG Supervisor role at Refuge VFX. While at Refuge VFX Joshua found that his skill for design became very useful in the film space. He was asked to design the KOIDS for the hit Amazon sci-fi series “The Peripheral” written by William Gibson. He also designed various title sequences for film and streaming series.

Studio Head

Fred Ruff is the visionary leader at the helm of our studio. With a foundation in computer graphics and a notable career at Autodesk designing 3d animation software. Fred's passion for fusing art and technology ensures that we consistently create outstanding visuals, transforming your ideas into captivating reality.
