Project: ALEX CROSS

Type : TITLE DESIGN

Synopsis

The Amazon series Alex Cross is a crime thriller that follows the titular character, Alex Cross, as he becomes entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a cunning and sadistic serial killer across Washington, D.C. After being engaged as the primary visual effects vendor for the show, Refuge pitched several main title sequence concepts that were made in conjunction with established storytelling devices for the series, playing on classic film noir motifs of black and white.

Inspiration : Hand of Justice

There's a belief that destroying a symbol extinguishes the idea it represents. By subverting it, you strip it of its power. This concept delved into the destruction of virtuous symbols, whether by flame or tearing them up and rendering them useless. In such instances, our vengeance can become all consuming, akin to a fire itself, fueling a determination to bring the culprit to justice.

Dark Noir : Shadows and Silhouettes

Perception. Shadows and Silhouettes.  Is the space positive or negative.  This kind of graphic language works well when looking into themes about justice and judgement.

Double Exposure : Duality

Duality is the idea that a person can present one thing about who they are and be an entirely different animal underneath. The unique criminals that exists in the Cross series are layered and complicated.

Fever Dream : Dali on Crack

In nightmare elements of terror blend together to snap you awake. We wanted to blend animalistic and violent symbols
